Dr. ATMARANJAN DASHMbbs Ms Mch Neurosurgery (AIIMS NEWDELHI)

– Dr. Dash has been associated with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi for 3 years.

– They joined AIIMS, New Delhi in January 2017 as an MCh Neurosurgery resident.

– Before joining AIIMS, they worked as a senior resident in neurosurgery at LOK NAYAK HOSPITAL /MAULANA AZAD MEDICAL COLLEGE FOR 7 MONTHS.

– They have experience in managing ward and neurosurgical ICU, as well as seeing the outpatient clinics for 2 days/week and looking after the emergency cases in MAIN AIIMS, and trauma cases in JPNTC AIIMS.

– They have performed routine as well as emergency operative cases, including skull base and vascular, traumatic and degenerative, and minimally invasive spine surgery (MISS), cases of endoscopic pituitary surgery including neurotrauma during their residency.

– They also have experience in aneurysm surgeries and 48 cerebellar pontine angle tumors during their tenure at AIIMS NEW DELHI.

– They got the opportunity to manage complex cases of craniovertebral junction anomaly and drug-refractory epilepsy, including endoscopic hemispherectomy and temporal lobectomy and amygdala hippocampectomy.

– They assisted in cases of DEEP BRAIN STIMULATION (DBS) SURGERIES to PROF MANMOHAN SINGH.

– During their tenure at AIIMS, they got a lifetime opportunity to be trained under PROF RICHARD WOHNS NEOSPINE TEXAS in advanced cervical and LUMBAR SPINE surgeries.

– They joined PARAS HOSPITAL GURUGRAM at the end of 2019 as an attending consultant neurosurgery with Prof V S MEHTA and Dr Sumit Sinha continued their neurosurgery practice.

– They came back to Odisha in 2020 and joined as a consultant in neurosurgery at Apollo Hospital Bhubaneswar and Sum Hospital.

– Achievements in Neurosurgery include performing India’s first case of brain stem epilepsy, published in the Journal of Neurosurgery, and operating on a rare case of giant posterior cerebral artery aneurysm.

Endoscopic and complex spine surgery.skull base and vascular neurosurgery. Complex spine surgery, epilepsy surgery. Endovascular and Vascular Neurosurgery, Neuro-Oncology, Neuro, and Spinal Trauma BRACHIAL PLEXUS SURGERY.

THESIS:

My thesis topic in MCh Neurosurgery was to see the role of intracisternal papaverine for the prevention and treatment of vasospasm in post-clipping aneurysm patients in an ambispective study.
